Harvey V. Colby, 87, Hesperia, California and formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Mason City, Iowa on September 13, 1925, he was the son of Edwin Colby & Goldie (Lindstrom) Colby. He served with the U. S. Navy during W. W. II. Harvey worked in retail sales retiring after 40 years. He was a member of Calvary Chapel, Hesperia, California.
On June 21, 1947, Harvey married Phyllis Banken, who preceded him in death December 1997. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother Ed.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David & Lisa Colby; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila Richard and Patty & Jim Seifert; four grandchildren, Robert & Amy Rueger, Kent & Himani Williams, Mikaela Colby and Alana Colby; four great-grandchildren, Derek, Kali, Corinne and Alexandra Rueger.
Burial will follow in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
